Everything you need to get the most out of LunarAI.

🚀 Getting Started

LunarAI is an AI chat platform that lets you have intelligent conversations with multiple AI models. Here's how to begin:

  • Start a chat — Click + New Chat in the sidebar to open a fresh conversation.
  • Type your message — Enter your question or prompt in the text box at the bottom and press Enter (or click Send).
  • Choose a model — Visit 🌙 Models to see all available AI models and their strengths.
  • Set your default model — Go to 👤 Profile and pick a preferred model for all new chats.

💬 Chat Features

  • Streaming responses — Answers appear word-by-word in real time so you can start reading immediately.
  • Regenerate — Not happy with a response? Click the ↺ regenerate button beneath it to get a new answer.
  • Pin a message — Click the 📌 pin icon on any message to save it at the top of the conversation for quick reference.
  • Export conversation — Open the conversation menu (⋯) and choose Export to download as Markdown or PDF.
  • Rename a conversation — Click on the conversation title in the sidebar to rename it, or use Auto-title to let the AI suggest a name.
  • Delete a conversation — Hover over a conversation in the sidebar and click the trash icon, or use the conversation menu.

📁 Projects

Projects let you group related conversations and give them a shared context (system prompt).

  • Create a project — Click the + New Project button in the sidebar.
  • Assign a conversation — Drag a conversation into a project folder, or use the conversation's context menu.
  • Custom system prompt — Each project can have its own instructions that shape how the AI responds inside that project.
  • Color-code projects — Pick a color for each project to make them easy to spot in the sidebar.
  • Attach files — Upload reference files to a project so the AI can draw on them during every conversation in that project.

🔗 Sharing Conversations

  • Share a link — Open a conversation's menu and choose Share. A unique link is generated that anyone can view.
  • Manage shares — Return to the same menu to see all active share links or revoke them at any time.
  • View-only — Recipients can read the conversation but cannot send new messages or see your account.

🔍 Searching Messages

  • Sidebar search — Use the search bar near the top of the sidebar to filter your conversations by name.
  • Message search — Click the magnifying glass icon inside a conversation to search within all messages.

📌 Pinning Conversations

  • Right-click (or long-press on mobile) a conversation in the sidebar and choose Pin to keep it at the top of your list.
  • Pinned conversations appear in a dedicated Pinned section above your recents and never scroll away.

🔐 Account Security

  • Change password — Go to 👤 Profile → Change Password.
  • Passkeys (WebAuthn) — Register a fingerprint, Face ID, or hardware key under Profile → Passkeys for passwordless login.
  • Two-factor authentication (TOTP) — Enable an authenticator app under Profile → Two-Factor Auth for an extra layer of security.

💡 Tips & Tricks

  • Press Shift + Enter to add a new line without sending your message.
  • Use projects with a custom system prompt to create specialized assistants (e.g., a coding helper, a writing coach).
  • Export important conversations as Markdown and keep them in your notes app for later reference.
  • Pin your most-used conversations so they're always one click away.
  • Visit 🌙 Models to compare speed, capability, and cost before choosing a model for a task.
